Normal Exit
96 Exit
If flying under the stage is difficult, simply fly high over the stage. This is slightly slower as Mario's speed gets locked later. Be sure not to fly over the goal tape when flying over.

Secret Exit
96 Exit
Flying Under
The early wings and early DSH routes will not have green blocks, making this strat a bit easier.

11 Exit (NMG) and 11 Exit (Orb)
Note that this may be difficult to pull off and it will only save around half a second, so the normal 11 Exit strat above is recommended for beginners.
After throwing the shell, keep holding B and do a quick left-right to slow down and face right before entering cape flight state. The feather won't immediately interact with Mario as it comes out of the block, hence the delay.
Use the backup cape to D-boost in Front Door.
