Routing
In 96 exit, this exit may be done either as the first one after entering Star World via Soda Lake, or immediately after SW2 secret exit, except if you are doing wings in this level (which are not recommended but technically could save up to about 2s). This allows some flexibility since the two routes are exactly the same in terms of speed. If the normal exit is done first, the runner may switch to the secret exit in the rare case of a goal tape despawn. On the other hand, for runners who find the flight up to the key area difficult, it is better to attempt the secret exit first and switch to the normal exit as a backup in case of a bonk.
Additionally, bringing the p-switch (or a throw block) through the goal tape will give a backup feather. This is useful when doing the Star World 5 yellow Yoshi grab because feeding Yoshi the cape is somewhat easier than other powerups. It is undesirable when doing the more traditional Star World 2 Yoshi grab as the cape falls slower than other powerups. For feeding the Yoshi in Star World 2, it is best to either retain the reserve flower from earlier in the run, or else pick up the mushroom at the beginning of Star World 1.
