Normal Exit

96 Exit

The boo ring positions will vary based on how fast the secret exit of this stage was played. The screen can be scrolled left at the beginning of the second room in order to load the boo ring sooner, this makes it easier to get through if the boo ring is in a bad position. Getting p-speed before the eerie is kinda tricky. If you don't, simply spinjump over the eerie then fly holding the p-switch to the door.

Through the Boo Ring

There are 2 different outcomes when flying through the boo ring. Keep holding X or Y no matter which happens.
Cape Cancel: This is the intended outcome. Right as Mario lands, start holding left again.
Fly Through: In case of not cape canceling, continue tapping right and do the ending similar to the above video.
Lastly, the final part of room 2 can be done without tapping left to bait out the boo to save about 20 frames, however, due to the clunky nature of the floating framerule, it is easy to either land on the boo or overshoot the door and lose extra time.

95 Exit, No Cape

Doing the stair clip significantly impacts the position of the boo ring in the second room.

Secret Exit

Cape Categories

If Vanilla Ghost house was played before this stage, the positioning of the boo ring may be different. If the first room is done slowly, a left/right may be necessary to avoid hitting the boo ring in the second room.

Standard Strat

Getting p-speed before the eerie is kinda tricky. If you don't, simply spinjump over the eerie then fly holding the p-switch to the door.

Keep in mind that the faster strats below will mess up the boo ring for categories that do the normal exit afterwards.

Fast Strat

This strat is not recommended for beginners. Jumping through the boo rings in the first room is a little tricky, and makes the second room much more difficult.

Faster Strat

Flying underneath in room 2 allows the movement in room 1 to be cut tighter, fast fly will also save extra time over the fast strat.

Glitchless Stair Clip

This strat requires switching to fire right after getting past the final fish in DS1.

Cape Only Stair Clip

A viable strat for WR or high level PB attempts for 11 exit. Simply hold A and X when entering, and duck (or let go of right) for exactly 2 frames once Mario's been on the screen for 5-7 frames. A table of acceptable delay amount/timings can be found here[1]

95 Exit, No Cape & 11 Exit, No Cape

The initial position of the boo ring will vary depending on the strats used on the normal exit of this stage for 95 Exit and will always be the same for 11 Exit. The Jump from the turn blocks up to the secret exit door is luck based, take the vine if you don't make it.

No Luck Jump

This avoids the luck jump at the cost of about a second.

IL & 11 Exit, No Cape Only

This way of doing the secret exit is only available for 11 Exit, No Cape because the boo ring will always be in this exact position in room 2.
